Dr. Willie Makori Nyambati, PhD
Chairman

Willie Makori O. Nyambati, PhD, is the Chairman of the board at Gold Star Kenya. He brings a wealth of professional experience in health/population management, programming and operations having worked both in the Public and Private sectors in Kenya for more than 20 years.

He is currently the Chief Administration Officer at JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) which implements the Government of Japan’s Overseas Development Assistance, a position he has served since 2006.

Over the course of his career, he has worked with the Danish Embassy in Nairobi, attached to DANIDA, and the Kenya Ministry of Health’s Health Sector Reforms Program, Government of Kenya under several ministries and departments.

Dr. Nyambati is serving as the chairman of a number of Public-School Management Boards in Kenya and is also Chairman and Member of several Non-Governmental Organizations including NOPE Kenya and NOPE Uganda, FHI360, ICROSS Ireland, and Kenya, New World International, County Government among others.

He holds a PhD, and Masters Degree in Demography (Medical, Social Dynamics, and child survival – Population Studies and Research), coupled with several professional pieces of training and varied experiences (Donors, NGOs, the Government of Kenya, etc.)
