Eliza Wachuka

Eliza Wachuka is a Technical Officer RMNCAH with experience in clinical and public health experience in Kenya. The expertise I possess include provision of technical and management assistance in health programme implementation and evaluation in partnership with Ministry of Health and communities. I have expertise in health systems strengthening and governance focusing on community health systems and health institutional capacity building with the goal of ensuring individuals and communities realize full potential. Technically, I am an expert in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Adolescent, eMTCT and community health and development.  

 

Academically I am an ongoing PhD (Population and Reproductive Health) student at Kenyatta University. I hold a Master’s degree in population and Reproductive Health from Kenyatta University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kenya Methodist University and a Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College. The professional courses I have undergone include Leadership and Management in Global Health and Project Management in Global Health from the University of Washington. I have further undertaken a certificate course in Comprehensive Reproductive Health by MOH-Division of Family Health-Kenya.

 

In contribution into the body of knowledge in Reproductive, maternal and newborn health, I have developed, published and presented abstracts and scientific papers in conferences and scientific forums. They include 7th and 8th Annual Midwives Scientific Conferences, 2nd South Rift Valley Annual Best Practice Forum, Annual ECSACON scientific conference, 43rd edition of Kenya Obstetric and Gynecological Society (KOGS) Annual Scientific Conference. Keys of success which I uphold include integrity & ethics, leadership, teamwork, Recognition, Communication and Continuous Improvement. My main career objective includes making use of my professional expertise, experience and discipline to improve the quality and efficiency of Reproductive Maternal and Newborn Health services by improving the operational efficiencies and maximum utilization of the available resources.
