Baringo is one of the counties in Kenya with poor RMNCAH indicator performance. More than 375 women die while giving birth and atleast 30 children out of 1000 born die at birth or immediately after birth. These challenges are attributed to several factors ranging from poor access to health services, low quality of services, social-economic and cultural hurdles, and unavailability of equipment to support maternal health. With support from Safaricom Foundation, the Afya Uzazi Salama project focussed on:

• Increasing demand for RMNCAH services through various demand-creation interventions in the community.

• Improving access to RMNCAH services in remote and underserved populations of Baringo County.

• Advocacy and policy development
