Community-based Nutrition Interventions
Community-level nutrition interventions target children aged under two years (0-23 months). Establishment of Baby-Friendly Community Initiative (BFCI) and integrated nutrition interventions in Binti Shujaa, CCM, and integrated outreaches.
Community BFCI activities
Reaching women in BFCI activities and reached them with key nutrition messages on;
Aims at increasing the uptake of MNCH services as well as sensitizing and educating the community on the importance of promotive and preventive health and nutrition services. In collaboration with County Health management teams, Malezi Bora campaigns focus on vitamin A supplementation and nutrition screening by CHVs targeting children under five years and breastfeeding mothers.
Measures to improve immunization and management of newborn and childhood illnesses through mentorship. In addition, cold chain maintenance and integrated outreaches in hard-to-reach and under-served populations are supported.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH):
Our programs support integrated WASH activities in line with supporting community resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Activities supported include risk communication messaging, handwashing with soap and water, safe household water use, and installation of handwashing facilities.
